Adam “Yukon” Harr has been immersed in music his whole life. From a young age, he realized that listening to finished music is what truly inspires him.
Starting with the trumpet in school and studying with the Monterey Jazz Festival, he went on to Major in Music at CSU, Chico. And then Audio Engineering at the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences.
Kicking off his career in Los Angeles, Adam worked as a Staff Engineer at EastWest Studios and Glenwood Place Studios. There, he collaborated with legends like Cheap Trick, Frank Ocean, and Bruno Mars, while working alongside top producers and engineers such as Alan Parsons, Rick Rubin, Pharrell, and Eddie Kramer. It’s also where he earned the nickname "Yukon" for his rugged, mountain-man look.
In his spare time, Yukon would use the studio’s analog equipment to polish his friends' and coworkers' records. He became fascinated with how mastering is able to fine-tune a song's energy and shape how it is felt. This passion led him to a production engineer role at Lurssen Mastering, where he mastered the art of making records sound their absolute best.
Today at Blue Oak, Yukon’s thorough understanding of the entire music process makes him an expert at identifying and fixing issues from earlier production stages, while finishing the entire record.
